Full Synopsis

Queen Ida of the Earth Faery Kingdom and Queen Merilla of the Water Faery Kingdom hunger for power, seeking dominance over the Danu Fae. In a strategic move, Queen Ida offers one of her granddaughters as an heir to Queen Merilla in exchange for Dagda’s Cauldron, a powerful magical relic. When Penny rushes home to warn her sister Clare about the queens' plans, she discovers that Clare has already been kidnapped by the water faeries.

The Sovereign, the fourth book in The Danu Fae Series, unfolds through the perspectives of five crucial characters: Penny, Faith, Eli, The Voidian Prince, and Clare. As multiple storylines intertwine, the characters face numerous obstacles and dilemmas.

Clare finds herself trapped in the water faeries' palace, yearning to return to her normal teenage life. Uninterested in the faery world, she learns about the Water Queen's ambitious plans for her as the secondary heir to Dagda’s powers. Clare, determined to escape and seeking revenge upon discovering her family's involvement in her undoing, navigates the challenges posed by her captors.

Faith grapples with Penny's potential to become the most powerful faery in Danu. Initially concerned about the impact on her rule from the Fire Faery Throne, Faith, after Penny seeks an alliance, contemplates leveraging the situation to her advantage. While sympathetic to Penny's plight and eager to rescue her sister, Faith faces a dilemma when her twin brother, Prince Fintain, is held hostage by the Earth Faery Queen, demanding Penny's return.

Eli, initially hopeful that the Voidians kidnapped Penny, faces heartbreak when he discovers her with the Voidian Prince. His emotions surface, revealing internal struggles with the realization that Penny may not be destined for him. Further revelations about his family history, disclosed by Faith during a surprise visit, force Eli to question the Earth Faery Queen's role in his family's destruction.

The Voidian Prince grapples with conflicting desires—wanting Penny to break Dagda’s Curse for the Voidians' prosperity but fearing the consequences for her. His love for Penny becomes a source of concern, especially regarding the reactions of other faery kingdoms. While assisting Penny, he learns from Lady Naima that disconnecting the portals could cost Penny her life, forcing the Voidian Prince to make a crucial decision.

Penny, torn between forbidden love with the Voidian Prince and her responsibility as Dagda’s Heir, strives to rescue her sister from the water faeries. Uncertain about embracing the burden of ruling all the Danu Fae, she explores her options, considering life as a Voidian. As cataclysms unfold, Penny is compelled to make a pivotal decision that will determine the fate of the entire Danu Fae realm.
